SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State senior Chrystal Ruiz was selected to compete in the 400M, high jump, and pentathlon at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships hosted by Minnesota State University Mankato on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10.
Ruiz had already automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in the pentathlon with an automatic mark of 3,946 points. It is the third-best mark in Division II this season. The pentathlon will be contested on Saturday, March 10.
She earned an at-large bid in both the high jump and 400M. Her season best of 5'-8” (1.73M) was set at the Lone Star Conference Invitational and is tied for No. 9 in NCAA Division II. She ran the 400M at the GVSU Big Meet in a converted 56.00 which is a personal best for Ruiz. It is the No. 8 fastest time in NCAA Division II.
The NCAA Division II Indoor Championships will start on Friday, March 9
th and conclude on Saturday, March 10
