SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams had a strong start to the Texas Relays with three NCAA Division II provisional and three personal-best marks.
The reigning Lone Star Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week,
Theresa Sue, improved on her personal-best time in the 400m hurdles. The sophomore ran a 1:01.37 to finish second in her heat and 20
th overall. Freshman
Lexi Brooks ran a 1:04.81 and placed 52
nd.
Kimberly Williams started her weekend with a personal best. The Roby native threw a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 139-7 (42.54m) to finish in fifth place in the javelin and set a new personal best.
Jacob McDonald threw a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 201'-1” (61.29m) to finish in sixth place in the 'B' section of the men's javelin at the Texas Relays.
Jeffrey Jones qualified for the final of the 400m hurdles college division with a season-best time of 54.04. He had the sixth-fastest time and will run in the final on Saturday.
The men's 4x100m relay will start the competition for the Rams tomorrow at the Texas Relays.
