RESULTS
SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State Rams and Belle track & field teams added five NCAA Division II provisional marks and three new names to the NCAA Division II list at the Tarleton State Invitational.
Cathryn Rittenberry ran a fast 14.22 in the 110M hurdles for her first NCAA Division II provisional mark. The more impressive thing about the time was it was ran into a 2.2 head wind.
Austin Slone improved on his season best in the triple jump. He won the event with a wind-aided 49-7.25” (15.12m). His second mark was a NCAA Division II provisional mark but was unable at time of release.
The Belles made it a sweep in the triple jump as
Jaylen Rodgers won the women's event. She jumped a season best and NCAA Division II provisional mark of 38'-6.25” (11.74m). Rodgers won her second event of the day with a 2:23.66 in the 800m.
Kimberly Williams won the women's shot put with a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 44'-00” (13.41m) and the women's javelin with a throw of 128'-2” (39.07m).
Kati Holly cleared her first NCAA Division II provisional mark of the season in the high jump. She cleared 5'-6” (1.68m) to take second place in the women's high jump.
Ashlie Francis won the women's discus with a throw of 127'-2” (38.76m).
Theresa Sue and Rittenberry finished first and second in the women's long jump. Sue jumped a wind-aided 19'-6.25” (5.95m) while Rittenberry jumped out to 18'-1.50” (5.52m).
Patrick Hunter was third in the men's long jump with a wind-aided mark of 24'-4.25” (7.42m). Hunter followed his long jump with a third place in the triple jump with a wind-aided 45'-5.25”(13.85m).
Two Rams finished in second and third in the men's 400m.
Brendon West ran a 48.53 while
Isidro Garcia was behind him in 49.37.
Emeline Crutcher was second in the 1500m in a time of 4:55.36 while
Alyssa Priest crossed the line in fourth in a 5:02.03. Crutcher turned around and ran the 5000m in a 17:48.46 for a second place finish.
Angelo State won the men vault as
Jacob McDonald cleared a height of 15'-3” (4.65m).
The Belles 4x400M relay of
Lexi Brooks,
Theresa Sue,
Jordan Gray and Rodgers ran a 3:57.73 for second place. The Rams 4x400M relay won the men's event with a time of 3:20.32. The relay consisted of Thayer, Garcia,
Chris Sottak and West.
The Rams and Belles will be hosting their first meet of the season with the ASU Spring Break Multi-Event meet on March 14-15 at the LeGrand Sports Complex.
