SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State softball team will be “Hitting for Our Heroes” during the March 17-18 series against Midwestern State to help raise money for Operation Gratitude.
 
Operation Gratitude is a nonprofit organization that sends care packages year-round to service members deployed overseas, to their children left behind and to wounded warriors in military hospitals and transition units. The Rambelles will be selling T-shirts and koozies that will benefit Operation Gratitude.
 
There will also be in-game promotions and raffles with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Operation Gratitude. The Belles will be signing game balls and a mini helmet that will be auctioned off over the weekend. Fans will be given the opportunity to express their gratitude, as they are able to write letters to currently deployed service members and wounded warriors.
 
GRC Wireless Recycling has also teamed up with Operation Gratitude, as fans are encouraged to bring any old cell phone to the game. Through your cell phone donation, Operation Gratitude will earn up to $30 for each donated phone.  
 
The Angelo State R.O.T.C. color guard will present the colors prior to the national anthem, which will be followed by a Goodfellow Air Force Base military service member throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
