Rams Fall 100-83 to Cardinals on the Road

SAN ANTONIO – The Angelo State men's basketball team scored 13 points over its season average but couldn't keep pace with Incarnate Word in a 100-83 Lone Star Conference loss on Saturday at the McDermott Center.

The Rams (5-11, 2-6 LSC) allowed their most points of the season and fell to 0-7 on the road this season.     UIW (11-6, 6-2 LSC) came into the game leading the conference in scoring at 76.6 points per game in LSC play and also improved on its shooting percentage of 51 percent by shooting 57 percent from the floor against the Rams.

“They are a fast team and we didn't play good transition defense,” ASU head coach Fred Rike said. “We weren't bad offensively, but we couldn't string together any stops. I thought we played well in spurts today but we have to pack it in defensively against a good offensive team like Incarnate Word.”
