LaCombe Earns LSC Hitter of the Week After 11-RBI Weekend

Andrew LaCombe
SAN ANGELO – The opening to the 2013 season couldn't have gone much better for Andrew LaCombe who had 11 RBIs, four doubles, five hits, four wins and has now been named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week.

LaCombe, who was a LSC first-team catcher last season and is a two-time captain of the Rams, hit .385 in the four-game sweep of Ouachita Baptist and even stole two bases. The weekly honor is the first in his career at Angelo State and comes after he tied the ASU single-game record with a seven-RBI performance in the third game of the series in Arkadelphia. He tied Isaac Garcia's single-game record at Angelo State which had been established since Garcia drove in seven runs against Fort Hays State on Feb. 8, 2009.
