ODESSA, Texas – The voice of Angelo State athletics, Jeremy Bryant, made history on Thursday afternoon by becoming the first individual to win the Jack Trussell Award for LSC Broadcaster of the Year five times.
Bryant broke a tie with Dallas Huston with his fifth award. He is just the fourth individual to win the award in three consecutive years joining Phil Woodall (1997-1999) John Hendry (1990-1992) and Dallas Huston (1985-1987). Bryant also won the award in 2016, 2015, 2008 and 2006.
Bryant has called Angelo State athletic events for the last 16 years for Foster Communications. He provides play-by-play analysis for football, basketball, baseball and softball. The sports director at Foster Communications also provides an inside look at Ram and Rambelle student-athletes and coaches with the Sports Huddle radio show. Bryant has also showcased his skills as master of ceremonies for the ASU Athletics Hall of Honor and the Holland's Award Banquet during his time.
The award, which distinguishes those who best promote the LSC and its members through their work in the media, are selected annually by sports information directors at the LSC's member institutions. The Jake Trussell Award for Sportscaster of the Year is in memory of the late Jake Trussell of Kingsville who broadcasted contests for Texas A&M-Kingsville.
