The Angelo State women's soccer team (2-3-1) fell to St. Mary's, 4-1, Friday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Field.
St Mary's opened the scoring at the 7:13 mark when Lauren Scally drove home a cross pass from Marcey Morales for her second goal of the season. Elizabeth Hoffman collected her third goal of the year at the 37:49 mark to give the Rattlers a two goal advantage at the break.
St Mary's pushed the margin to four with two goals late in the second stanza before the Rambelles dented the scoreboard. Ashley Tatum, a 5-4 senior from Abilene, registered her eighth goal of the year for ASU when she took a free kick from just outside the goal box and collected the rebound to blast it into the back of the net to avoid the shutout.
The Rambelles return to the ASU Soccer Field on Sunday to face the No. 18-ranked St Edward's Hilltoppers. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
