Angelo State head women's soccer coach Travis McCorkle has announced that former Rambelle Pamela Bradley will return to campus this fall and serve as his assistant coach.
Bradley played for ASU from 2001-05 and was a two-time All-Lone Star Conference pick for the Rambelles during her career. A constant in the backfield for Angelo State, Bradley started every game for the Rambelles throughout her final three seasons of competition and ended her career after starting 58 consecutive games. She served as a team captain for the Rambelles as a senior as she anchored ASU's defensive backfield.
“I'm very pleased to have Pamela joining our coaching staff," McCorkle said. "Having worked with her while I was here previously, there is a certain degree of understanding and comfort that should help us hit the ground running. Throughout the interview process it was clear to me that she really wanted to come back to ASU as I did. When you really believe in the place you work for, it shows in your work. Pamela is a great addition to ASU and I'm hoping her energy, contacts and experience pay off in our results and our recruiting efforts.”
Immediately after her playing days, Bradley spent the spring of 2005 as student assistant in the women's soccer office under former ASU head coach Tom Brown. She has since worked for the University of Oklahoma's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics as a part of the school's academic services division. Bradley spent one semester as a note taking coordinator, overseeing 40 part-time employees, and recently has served as a learning specialist for the OU Track & Field program.
"I am exicted to return to Angelo State where I first discovered my passion for intercollegiate athletics," Bradley said. "Coaching has always been a passion of mine and I greatly enjoy working with student-athletes on and off the field."
She earned her bachelor's degree from ASU in Interdisciplinary Child Development and Learning in 2005 and gained her master's degree in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletics from Oklahoma in 2007. She was selected to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll after each of her final two seasons as was chosen as ASU's Holland's Award winner for women's soccer in 2004.
The Rambelles will open the 2008 season on Friday, Aug. 29, against Emporia State in St. Joseph, Mo.
