Top-seeded Angelo State scored five unanswered runs to down St. Edward's, 5-1, Thursday night to advance to the winner's bracket final in game eight of the 2008 NCAA DII South Central Regional Tournament at the ASU Softball Complex in San Angelo.
Kari Galm (32-2) picked up her second win of the tournament giving up one unearned run on four hits with five strike outs in a complete-game performance. Kaycee Taylor went 2-for-2 with an RBI while Laura Lopez added a 2-for-4 performance with an RBI and a run scored in the victory.
Diana Cezeaux (21-8) was handed the loss, pitching a total of four innings and giving up two earned runs on four hits. Robin Becker pitched the middle three innings allowing three earned runs on five hits.
The Rambelles (48-10) will now play Southeastern Oklahoma Friday at 4 p.m.. St. Edward's fell to 47-14 and will face Central Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. Friday in an elimination game.
