Facilities - Ben and Alvetta Kelly Weight Room

The Ben & Alvetta Kelly weight room was renovated in the summer of 2014 after a generous gift from ASU alum  Mike Millegan. The weight room name reflects ASU Hall of Honor member Ben Kelly and his wife Alvetta. Ben, a former San Angelo College football player, was one of the first African American football players to compete for a previously all-white football team in Texas. He also spent 29 years running the San Angelo Boys and Girls Club.

The weight room renovations include nine Hammer Strength combo racks that include top and bottom band attachments, regular and thick pullup bars, dip handles and power pivots. The flooring was replaced with RFS Regupol Aktiv fooring that has nine inlaid platforms, inlaid ladders, dot patterns and a 10' x 10' ASU logo. Other enhancements include new medicine balls, ViPRs, foam rollers and rolling sticks, jump ropes, resistance bands and a Vertimax.
