'Belles Ink Five for 2008-09

Angelo State head women's basketball coach Sally Walling Brooks has announced the addition of five new players that will join the 'Belles in 2008-09. Amongst her new class, Brooks will bring in four high school signees and one junior college transfer.

Casie Adams (5'10", F) will come to ASU after spending the past two seasons at Panola College. Adams nearly averaged a "double-double" for the Fillies. Prior to her two years at Panola, Adams four-time all-district pick while at The Colony High School. She was a two-year team captain and was honored as her district's MVP as a senior.

Jasmine Fuller (5'8", F) was an all-district and an academic all-district honoree while at Pflugerville High School. She helped lead the Panthers to back-to-back district championships and sparked PHS to the area finals as a senior. She was also a standout performer in track for the Panthers, tying the school's high jump record.

Halie Hargraves (5'3", G) signed with the 'Belles after a stellar prep career at Christoval High School. Hargraves was a three-time all-district perforer for the Lady Cougars and was honored as District MVP each of the past two seasons. She was named to the TABC All-State team as a junior and a senior and was also a named TABC Academic All-State in 2008. During her career at CHS, Hargraves led the Lady Cougards to two district titles.

Lyric Ross (5'10", F/C) was a two-sport star at San Angelo's Central High School. Ross earned all-district honors in both basketball and volleyball during her prep career. She nearly averaged a "double double" over her career with the Bobcats, averaging over 12 points and nine rebounds per game.

Jayda Spencer (5'5", G) set the school scoring record while at Comstock High School. She was a four-time all-district performer, including first team honors in each of the past two seasons. Spencer helped guide the Panthers to three consecutive (2006-08) bi-district and area championships.

The 'Belles finished the 2007-08 season with a 23-9 record and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the seventh consecutive year.
