With two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Mandy Phillips singled up the middle to score pinch runner Kaleigh Courville to propel St. Edward's to a 1-0 win over Southeastern Oklahoma and force the "if" game at the 2008 NCAA DII South Central Regional Tournament at the ASU Softball Complex in San Angelo.
Southeastern Oklahoma pitcher Marjorie Johnson was on pace for her second no-hitter of the tournament before giving up Phillips' single. Johnson struck out 13 Hilltoppers while issuing just three walks in the loss.
The Savage Storm (53-11) got four hits off of St. Edward's starter Robin Becker (28-7) picked up her third win of the tournament. Becker fanned two SOSU hitters while giving up one walk. Diana Cezeaux collected her second save of the tournament and third of the season.
The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.
