Johnson No-Hits UCO

Southeastern Oklahoma's Marjorie Johnson tossed a no-hitter as the 2008 NCAA DII South Central Regional Tournament opened up with 2-0 Savage Storm win over Central Oklahoma at the ASU Softball Complex in San Angelo.

Johnson (26-3) recorded 11 strike outs while issuing five walks as her Savage Storm advanced to the winner's bracket and will play at 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon against either St. Mary's or Midwestern State.  Third-seeded SOSU improved to 51-10.

The Savage Storm took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Rachel Lynn led off SOSU's half of the inning with a double to leftcenterfield. Lynn would later score on a sacrfice bunt by Ashley Graham.  Southeastern Oklahoma added an insurance run in the sixth frame as Kristi Russell scored on a Broncho error.

Alli Blak (16-8) was handed the loss as she gave up one earned run on five hits with five strike outs.  No. 6 seed UCO fell to 35-15 and will now play at 11 a.m. Thursday morning against either St. Mary's or Midwestern State.
