Top-seeded Angelo State scored more runs than in the previous three games combined as the Rambelles cruised to a 9-1 five-inning win over No. 8 seed Fort Lewis in game four of the 2008 NCAA DII South Central Regional Tournament at the ASU Softball Complex in San Angelo.
Angelo State scored three runs in each the first and second innings to take a quick 6-0 lead over the Skyhawks. The Rambelles amassed just six hits but took advantage of two FLC errors and seven walks.
Kari Galm (31-2) earned the victory as she gave up one earned runon two hits with two strike outs in a complete game. Angelo State improved to 47-10 overall and will next face St. Edward's in the second round at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Cary Moone (15-10) picked up the loss giving up six earned runs on six hits with four strike outs in 4.2 innings of work. Fort Lewis slipped to 28-25-1 and will play Abilene Christian at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in an elimination game.
