Soccer honors announced

The Lone Star Conference released its postseason honors for women's soccer Thursday night and four Rambelles garnered recognition by the league.

Senior defender Jennifer Bukowski, senior midfielder Skylar Searles and sophomore forward Brandie DeBacker were all named honorable mention All-LSC performers. This marked the second time in their careers for Bukowski (2006) and DeBacker (2008) earned honorable mention honors while this was the first honor for Searles.

Senior midfielder Christian Willman was named to the 11-player all-academic team. Willman boasts a 3.92 grade point average in marketing and led the Rambelles with five assists this season. Seven ASU players - DeBacker, Searles, senior defender Lucy Thompson, junior goalkeeper Melanie Peterson, junior midfielder Shannon Dean and sophomore midfielder LeShea Millard - were named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The Rambelles recorded their five 10-win season in seven years, ending the 2009 campaign with a 10-9 overall mark. ASU finished eighth in the LSC with a 4-6 league record, one win shy of a trip to the LSC Tournament.
