After announcing 30 newcomers last week on the first day of national signing period, Angelo State head football coach Dale Carr announced today the addition of two more high school players that have signed national letters of intent with the Rams.
Houston North Shore's Excelle Osborne and Austin Johnson's Courtney Moore will bring ASU's high school newcomer total to 24 players. Osborne was a second team all-district pick for North Shore H.S. and led the Mustangs to the state semifinals this past season. Moore was a two-time all-district pick for LBJ H.S. and was a part of a district championship team for the Jaguars in 2008.
Last Wednesday, Carr announced 22 high school players and eight junior college transfer that will join the Rams in 2009. Among his 24 high school signees, Carr added 13 new faces on offense and 11 on defense. The Rams picked up four offensive linemen, four wide receivers, two tight ends, a fullback, a running back and a quarterback on offense. On defense, ASU added four linebackers, four defensive backs and three linemen.
