Last Time Out
The Rams traveled to Canyon, Texas to take on West Texas A&M and defeated the Buffs, 17-14. In a very defensive battle, the Rams squeaked out the victory. Deldric Shields set the Rams up on an 83-yard kickoff return to start the game, allowing the Rams to get on the board first to lead 7-0. The Rams led 10-0 at halftime with a field goal from Connor Flanigan from 34-yards out. In the second half, the Buffs came alive and managed to score quickly to cut the Rams' lead to 10-7. WTAMU scored again to take their first lead but the Rams answered back in the final seconds of the third quarter to take the lead back 17-14 and claim the victory. Two missed field goals by the Buffs secured the win for ASU.

National Rankings
The Rams jump farther up the rankings after a nail-bitter victory against West Texas A&M, 17-14. The Rams moved into the 22 spot on the AFCA top-25 poll and 19 on the D2 Football poll. After a 31-14 rout of Western New Mexico, the Rams jumped back into the rankings at No. 25/23. The Blue and Gold fell out of the rankings due to the loss against No.4/5 Tarleton State. Leading up to the game against Tarleton, the Rams burst into the rankings at the No. 23 spot after upsetting No. 14 Midwestern State to knock MSU out of the rankings. The last time the Blue and Gold were ranked was back in the 2015 season. Angelo State started in the No. 6 spot at the beginning of the season and dropped down to No. 23-25 towards the end of the season.
