Angelo State hosts its first ever meeting against a Canadian team, welcoming Simon Fraser to LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Federal Credit Union Stadium. The Rams start the season 1-0, after defeating Western Oregon, 45-20.

Lawson Ayo is on the verge of a breaking the receiving yard record. Ayo is 652 yards away from the school record. He finished last season with over 1,000 receiving yards, as he enters his senior season. He put himself 44 yards closer to the record after receiving three passes for 44 yards with two touchdowns against Western Oregon.
