Angelo State and Lubbock Christian meet for the second time this season and the 27
th time in school history with the Rams leading the all-time series, 21-5. The last time these two teams met was back in November with ASU claiming a 73-63 victory over the Chaparrals.
Ronald Bell and
Andres Ibarguen helped carry the team to victory, both notching double-doubles. Bell scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Ibarguen scored 14 points and tallied 10 rebounds. The victory also gave Head Coach
Cinco Boone his 100
th career win as a head coach.

The Chaparrals enter the weekend with an 8-4 record overall and a 5-2 record in conference play. Lloyd Daniels leads the LCU offense, averaging 12.8 points a game. In an average of 32.2 minutes a game, Daniels shoots .541 percent from the floor including .476 percent from beyond the arc and .758 from the charity stripe. On defense, Parker Hicks is a force under the basket for the Chaps, as he has grabbed 77 total rebounds with 64 of them defensively and averages 6.4 rebounds a game.

The Rams started the New Year out at home, hosting the University of Texas Permian Basin and the Western New Mexico University Mustangs and picked up two victories. Against UTPB,
Collin Turner carried the team to victory scoring a career and season-high 27 points for the Ram offense. Ibarguen notched another double-double on the season, contributing with 13 points and grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds.
Jeremy Hayes (18) and
Paul Williams (11) also scored in double-digits to help the Rams claim the victory. Against the Mustangs, five players scored in double-digits to slide past WNMU for a 92-79 victory.

Turner leads the ASU offense with a 16.7 points per game average. He has notched 184 points on the season and ranks 10
th in the conference for overall stats. Through seven conference games, Turner ranks 6
th in conference only stats and averages 17.3 points against conference opponents. He has tallied 29 assists and 26 steals overall, as well.

Ibarguen leads the Ram defense with a 102 rebounds and a 9.3 rebound per game average to rank second in conference. Against conference opponents, Ibarguen averages 9.1 rebounds per game and ranks second in conference only stats. Ibarguen also helps offensively averaging 12.0 points a game.
