Belles Drop Road Contest to #8 DBU

Dallas, Texas – In the highly anticipated rematch from last spring's LSC Tournament Championship game, the Belles got off to a dream start, finding the back of the net ten minutes in. However, the hosts would respond with a goal of their own three minutes later to equalize and would score the deciding goal in the 56th minute of the match.

The Belles were on the front foot early, forcing four shots in the matches' opening seven minutes.

Beautiful buildup play on the counter attack for the Belles saw the ball end up at the feet of Valerie Solis, who took a touch past a DBU defender before taking another one past the Patriots' goalkeeper and tapping into the open net. This is the junior's second goal of the season, giving her nine goal contributions for the campaign.

The hosts responded after a failed clearance from the Belles defense made the game level, and would take the game in the 56th minute as the Belles allow two goals in a match for the second time this season.

Both teams took 14 shots with five coming on target for both squads. Belles goalkeeper Kira Miller made three saves on the afternoon.

The Belles are 8-2-1 on the season and 3-2-1 in conference play. They return to action on Wednesday at home when they host #21 West Texas A&M.
