SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State men's basketball team begins postseason play, hosting UT Permian Basin Tuesday, Mar. 1, at the Junell Center in the first round of the Lone Star Conference tournament.

Tickets are available to purchase online at any time, and at the Foster Field ticket office beginning Monday at 10 a.m. Regular season seats do not carry over to the postseason, fans will need to login online and find their desired seats. Section 104 will be reserved for UTPB fans to purchase. Online tickets can be purchased here. 
 
LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams won their only game last week against UT Tyler, 88-64. The Rams were slated to play Texas A&M-Commerce, but the game was called off due to inclimate weather/road conditions. The Rams dominated the Patriots wire-to-wire behind a 21 point performance by Paul Williams and a 20 point outing from Dante Moses.

In the second matchup of the year, which counted towards LSC standings, the Falcons were able to leave the Junell with a well earned victory. The Rams only had three double-digit scorers, Tyrell Carroll with 17 points, Paul Williams with 15, and Fredelin De La Cruz with 10.
 
SCOUTING UT PERMIAN BASIN:
The Falcons finished the regular season as the 10 seed in the LSC. They  In Lone Star play, the Falcons beat six of the seven teams who finished behind them, and only beat two teams who finished above them in the standings, the Rams being one of those teams. UTPB ended the regular season 1-1 at home, beating UT Tyler 89-71 and losing to Texas A&M-Commerce, 87-81.
 
UTPB currently holds the fifth highest-scoring offense in the Lone Star, averaging 76.8 points per game. Defensively, the Falcons are holding opponents to 72.7 points per game, ranking 11^th in the conference. The Falcons rank second in team field goal percent, shooting .484 from the field. UTPB struggles defensively, allowing the highest field goal percent to opponents at a .475 clip. The Falcons average 9.2 mad threes per game and shoot .378 from deep, both fourth in the LSC.
 
Miles Daniels and Jordan Horn lead the offensive attack for the Falcons. Daniels scores 16.5 points per game, shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 44.9 percent from three. Horn adds 16.3 per contest, shooting 47 percent from the field and 40 percent from downtown. Both players rank in the top seven in the LSC in each of these statistical categories.
