Rambelles Earn 1-1 Draw on the Road

Edmond, Okla. - After a long trip out to Oklahoma, the Angelo State women's soccer team would earn a 1-1 draw with Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon.

The Rambelles move to 3-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in Lone Star Conference play. Oklahoma Christian moved to 4-1-3 overall and 0-1-2 in LSC action following the home draw with the Belles.

The first half of action was cagey between the two sides, with only eight total shots in the half, with seven of them coming from the Eagles and one coming from the Belles.

The Eagles back line would not allow a shot for the first 43 minutes of action.

In the second half, it was much more even on both sides of the ball. In the 64th minute, Zoe Walker was able to get the Eagles on the board 1-0.

In the 68th minute, the Belles would come right back, with Katelin Heise being able to set up Allyson Reed with the goal from way outside the box to tie the game 1-1.

From Head Coach Travis McCorkle: " Im pleased of the result after the long drive and playing on the hard field. We came back and got the goal to tie it with another bomb from Allyson Reed. We knew coming into the game that set pieces and long throws were going to be the difference, and if we could hand them, we woe would have a good result. We handled ten of them and made a small mistake on the one they scored on. We got to clear up a few things for St. Mary's on Wednesday.
