After nearly a month away, the Rams return to LeGrand Stadium at 1
st Community Credit Union Field as Angelo State hosts Texas A&M – Kingsville on Saturday, Oct. 12 with kickoff set for 6 p.m.

Saturday's game will pit two of the four remaining undefeated teams in Lone Star Conference play against each other as the season crosses the halfway point.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams tallied their third straight win last week as they put together a complete game, downing UT Permian Basin 36-7 on the road. Quarterback
Braeden Fuller picked up where he left off before the bye week, rushing for three touchdowns and throwing for another as he collected 258 total yards.
Kenton Allen returned a fumble for a touchdown while making a game-high 12 tackles to help ASU's defense keep the Falcons out of the endzone until UTPB broke through with just under six minutes to play.

SERIES HISTORY: Angelo State vs. Texas A&M - Kingsville

Last Meeting: Oct. 14, 2023 – ASU, 38-16
While the Javelinas hold the advantage in the all-time series, the Rams have been in control as of late, winning the last 10 consecutive meetings dating back to the 2013 season. ASU's largest margin of victory came during the 2021 season, defeating the Javelinas 58-19. Prior to ASU's 2013 win, the Javelinas had won six straight games against the Rams, most recently, a 34-21 win in Kingsville during the 2012 campaign.

SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS:
- The Javelinas hold a 4-1 overall record and are one of four teams in the conference with a 3-0 league record.
- TAMUK's only loss came in the first game of the season, falling to Colorado Mesa 16-13 at home. The Javelinas won a nonconference game against Mississippi College before defeating UTPB, Sul Ross State, and Midwestern State to begin conference play.
- The Javelinas hold the sixth-ranked rushing defense in Division II, allowing 60.2 rushing yards per game while they rank first in red zone defense, holding opponents to a percentage of .375.
- TAMUK ranks third in the LSC in both points scored (31.2) and points allowed (14.2) per game while giving up the eighth most passing yards at 232.2 yards per game.
- TAMUK's secondary is tied with the Rams for most interceptions this season with six.
- The Javelinas are the second most penalized team in the conference, giving up 74.4 penalty yards per game.
- Running back Roger Hagan ranks second in the LSC in rushing yards, collecting 102.2 yards per game with five touchdowns on the season.
- Quarterback Teague Sedtal is third in the LSC in both passing yards per game (176.3) and passing touchdowns with seven.
- Xavier Henderson and Demarcus Hendricks are second and third in the conference in tackles for loss respectively, recording 8.5 and 6.5 TFLs this season.

CONFERENCE OUTLOOK:
Four teams in the LSC are sitting at the top with a 3-0 conference record. Joining ASU and TAMUK are Central Washington, the preseason favorite, and Western Oregon. The Javelinas will face the other three teams in consecutive weeks starting Saturday against the Rams while ASU will see Central Washington at home on Nov. 2 before traveling to WOU the following week.

RAMS TALLY TWO LSC WEEKLY HONORS:
After the 36-7 win over UTPB, the Rams collected two conference awards for the weekend as Fuller was named Offensive Player of the Week and Allen was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.

FULLER TO THE ENDZONE:
Braeden Fuller has been responsible for seven touchdowns in his last two games, rushing for four touchdowns and throwing for two more. He ranks 10
th in the conference in TD scoring, averaging 4.8 points per game. His 86-yard run was the longest play from scrimmage since the 2021 season.

DEFENDING THE PYLONS:
The Rams are allowing only 13.0 points per game this season, the lowest point average in the Lone Star and the 10th-lowest average in Division II.

NEW INTERCEPTION CROWN:
Andrew Pitts recorded his 19
th career interception against Western New Mexico, setting a new program record for the Rams for interceptions in a career. He added another one at UTPB to bring his total to 20, making him the active career leader in all NCAA divisions for interceptions.

BALL HAWKIN:
ASU's defense extended its interception streak against the Falcons, picking off opponents at least once in each game this season. The Rams have now recorded at least one interception in seven of their last eight games going back to last season.

ASU's defense has collected 11 turnovers this season, ranking 16
th in Division II. The Rams are holding opponents to a 3
rd down conversion percentage of .274, the 18
th lowest in DII. The Rams also rank 6
th in the country with a turnover margin of plus-1.60.

SHIELDING THE BALL:
The Rams have allowed only three turnovers this season, ranking seventh in Division II in turnovers. ASU is one of five teams this season not to throw an interception, giving up only three fumbles through the first five games.

Cade Fuller ranks fifth in the country in punting, averaging 45.3 yards per punt which leads the Lone Star. Fuller is currently 9
th in Division II's active leaders with a career average of 41.1 yards per punt.

HEAD COACH PROFILE – JEFF GIRSCH
Jeff Girsch enters his sixth season as head coach of the Rams, 11th overall at Angelo State. He has compiled a 42-13 overall record since taking over the program in 2018 after serving as the defensive coordinator. Girsch has led the Rams to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Championship in 2021 and 2022 while claiming the 2022 Lone Star Conference title.

ASU is slated for five home games this season, hosting Eastern New Mexico in the home opener on Sept. 14.
