#23 Rams Claim LSC Title with 38-16 Victory Over Western Oregon

MONMOUTH, Ore. – The 23rd-ranked Rams are 2024 Lone Star Conference Champions after defeating Western Oregon 38-18 at McArthur Field on Saturday.
 
The Rams claimed their second conference title in three years as they won their eighth game in a row to improve to 8-2 overall on the year and 8-0 on conference play.
 
After both teams traded of field goals for the only scores in the first quarter, the Rams took the lead early in the second as Jayden Jones ran for an 11-yard touchdown.
 
Moments later, the Rams recovered a fumble before Braeden Fuller took the ball into the endzone on a 12-yard run to put the Rams up 17-3.
 
The Wolves kept the game close, converting a second field goal attempt before blocking a punt for a touchdown to make it 17-13 heading into the break.
 
ASU collected 428 yards of offense, including 315 yards through the air while the defense collected four takeaways and held the Wolves to 289 offensive yards. Jordan McKinney led the Rams with 14 tackles while Eric Rascoe and Zach Burton each finished with 11. Rascoe and Javatian Neal both collected an interception.
 
The Rams jumped out in the third quarter as Fuller found Zorhan Rideaux on an 80-yard touchdown pass. The duo would connect again later in the quarter on a 33-yard score as the Rams took a 31-16 lead.
 
ASU put the final touchdown on the board in the fourth quarter as Fuller dumped a pass down to Cameron Dischler who hurdled a defender before keeping himself in bounds and running for 68 yards to the house.
 
Fuller finished with 315 passing yards and three touchdowns while Rideaux finished with 124 receiving yards and two scores.
 
The Rams will close out the regular season at home next weekend as they face West Texas A&M on senior day on Saturday, Nov. 16 at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.
