SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team split their final home doubleheader with Texas A&M International on Tuesday at Mayer Field, winning game one 9-1 in a six-inning run rule before dropping game two 2-0 to the Dustdevils.
The Dustdevils scored their first and only run of game one on a solo home run to left field in the second inning.
The Rambelles took control of the game with an emphatic fourth inning that saw them push across seven runs.
Tatiana Trotter led the frame off with a walk before scoring on
Keilei Garcia's two-run home run to left field, her team-leading ninth home run of the season.

Zoey De Baca and
Ashton Dirner set up
Ashton McMillan, who drove in both runs on a double to right center.
The next batter,
Carter Smith, would single to center to plate McMillan.
The scoring in the frame would be capped off by
Averie Gunther's first home run for the Blue and Gold, and opposite-field blast that made the lead 7-1 in the Rambelles' favor.
The score remained 7-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning, when a leadoff double by
Katie Burris put a runner on base for
Abby Brand, who hit her first collegiate home run to give the Rambelles the run-rule victory.
Cheyenne Floyd improved to 19-5 as she pitched the first four innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out five Dustdevils.
Amelia Hatthorn pitched a perfect two innings in relief, recording one strikeout.
The Rambelles struggled offensively in game two, only mustering two hits, with the difference in the game being a two-run home run for the Dustdevils.
The Rambelles are now 33-12 on the season and 24-11 in LSC play. The two teams go for the series win tomorrow at 1 p.m.
