No. 19 Rams Roll Past Sul Ross State in 62–0 Rout

ALPINE, Texas — The No. 19 Angelo State football team dominated from start to finish Saturday night, rolling to a 62–0 shutout over Sul Ross State in Lone Star Conference play.

The Rams (6–2, 4–2 LSC) scored early and often, striking first when Jayden Jones capped the opening drive with a 10-yard touchdown run.

Angelo State's special teams continued their strong season as Athen Dominguez blocked a Sul Ross punt that Demetrias Charles recovered at the four-yard line. Two plays later, quarterback Braden Fuller found Corey Sandolph in the back of the end zone to make it 14–0.

In the second quarter, a 25-yard run by Cameron Dischler set up Jones' second touchdown of the game. Fuller later connected with Anthony Jones on a 62-yard pass, leading to Jayden Jones' third score of the night and a 28–0 advantage.

Before halftime, Kaeden Smith broke free for a five-yard touchdown run, sending the Rams into the locker room with a 35–0 lead.

The depth started to shine as quarterback Ayden Arp took over in the second half and kept the offense rolling, hitting Dorian Morris on the left sideline for a touchdown on the opening drive.

After a defensive stop, Arp found Hunter Wallis for a 31-yard scoring strike, then connected with Wallis again in the fourth quarter for a 22-yard touchdown—his third of the night.

Ashton Dickens capped the scoring on a 10-play drive, carrying the ball on every snap and punching in his first collegiate touchdown to seal the 62–0 victory.

Angelo State's defense held the Lobos scoreless and limited them to 205 total yards, while the Rams' offense and special teams combined for one of their most complete performances of the season.

The Rams will return to action next week with a road trip to Ellensburg, Wash. where a ranked Central Washington team awaits in what is expected to be a high-stakes bout in the LSC.
