Richardson, Texas – Coming off a successful weekend in which they won all three of their games at the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic at the Trailhead, Angelo State men's basketball forwards
Jaqai Murray and
Zyon Little were named Lone Star Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
Murray led the Rams in scoring with 14.7 points per game. He shot 60 percent from the field and averaged 6.7 rebounds per game.
In the season opener against Nebraska-Kearney, the Brooklyn native scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds against the Lopers before scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds against New Mexico Highlands.
In the weekend finale against No. 10 Colorado School of Mines, the Education major dropped 20 points, securing seven rebounds and assisting three times.
Little led the Rams' rebounding effort, averaging seven rebounds per game.
The Dickinson product put up 11 points, eight rebounds, and two steals against Nebraska-Kearney and had four points and five rebounds in only ten minutes against New Mexico Highlands.
The Business Management student scored ten points and grabbed eight rebounds against No. 10 Colorado School of Mines in 19 minutes of action.
The Rams are 3-0 as they head into their home schedule, which opens this weekend against Western Colorado and Adams State.
