RICHARDSON, Texas – The Angelo State football program tallied 17 Lone Star Conference Awards as announced by the league Thursday morning.
Safety
Xavier Walton was selected the LSC Defensive Back of the Year after leading the conference with six interceptions. The junior kinesiology major from San Antonio also recorded nine pass breakups.
Walton was one of three Rams named to the All-LSC First Team, joined by redshirt sophomore running back
Cameron Dischler and graduate student
Owen Seaver. Dischler, a kinesiology major from Orangefield, Texas, paced the Rams' ground game with 449 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Seaver earned first-team honors for the second straight season, ranking among the conference leaders with 17 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
Three Rams were named to the All-LSC Second Team:
Dalton Perry,
Demetrias Charles, and
Marquis Brown. Perry, a senior criminal justice major from Poth, Texas, anchored the offensive line from the center position as the Rams rushed for more than 2,300 yards. Charles, a senior management major from Channelview, Texas, posted three interceptions and three pass breakups at cornerback. Brown, an interdisciplinary studies major from Hillsboro, Oregon, added eight pass breakups and one interception from the opposite corner.
