Laredo, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the 2025-26 season with a 70-54 win over Texas A&M International on Monday evening inside the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building.
The Rams' wire-to-wire victory saw them shoot 51.8 percent from the field while taking care of the ball, only committing eight turnovers. They also assisted on 19 of their 29 made field goals.
The Rams' defense held the Dustdevils to 30.2 percent shooting from the field and out-rebounded the Dustdevils 30-28.
Jaqai Murray recorded a double-double with a career-high 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting while grabbing ten rebounds. He also blocked a shot and grabbed a pair of steals.
Ja'Queze Kirby scored 18 points and secured eight rebounds while also recording a pair of steals and rejecting a pair of shots.
Kailon Nicholls and
Jesaiah McWright each scored seven points; Nicholls led the Rams with seven assists, and McWright added four assists and three rebounds.
Jordan Crawford and
Jhordan Ryan scored six points apiece, and Crawford grabbed five rebounds while dishing out five helpers.
The Rams improve to 6-1 on the season and are back in action this weekend at the West Texas A&M Thanksgiving Classic, playing on Friday and Saturday in Canyon.
