SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State Head Football Coach
Jeff Girsch has announced that
Jason Johnson has been named the Rams' next Offensive Coordinator.
Previously, Johnson completed his ninth year as the Rams' Wide Receivers coach and Recruiting Coordinator, where he boasts a total of 14 LSC All-Conference performances at the wide receiver position, most recently in 2025 when
Zeek Freeman and
Hunter Wallis were tabbed as Honorable Mentions.
His best work came in 2023, when Zorhan Rideaux and Kyle Bradford were named First-Team Offense, finishing second and fourth, respectively, in receiving yards in the conference standings, combining for 1,113 yards and seven touchdowns.
Over the nine years Johnson has been with the program, the Rams accumulated 67 wins, won two Lone Star Conference Championships and made the NCAA DII Playoffs three times.
Johnson earned an associate of arts degree at Kemper Military Institute in 1999 and a bachelor's degree in health at Western Kentucky in 2002. He also earned a master's degree in physical education at Sul Ross State in 2009.
An introductory press conference will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m. in the VIP Room of the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
