Rambelles Get Back in Win Column With 1-0 Defeat Over the Falcons

ODESSA, Texas – The Angelo State women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over UT Permian Basin on Saturday, securing a road win behind a second-half goal from Sienna Schutte and a six-save shutout performance from goalkeeper Latae Rodriguez.

After a scoreless first half, the Rambelles broke through in the 76th minute when Schutte found the back of the net off an assist from Carley Martinez. The goal marked Schutte's second of the season and gave Angelo State the advantage it needed to close out the victory.

Angelo State generated 12 shots throughout the contest, with four landing on target. Schutte led the Rambelles with four shots, while Martinez added three shots to go along with her game-winning assist. Lawrencia Yeboah contributed two shots as Angelo State continued to pressure the Falcons throughout the match.

Rodriguez played all 90 minutes in goal for the Rambelles, recording six saves to preserve the shutout. She made five saves in the opening half as UTPB looked to find an early breakthrough before adding another stop in the second half to help Angelo State protect its lead.

The Rambelles also earned five corner kicks compared to three for the Falcons, creating additional opportunities to threaten the UTPB goal. Angelo State's persistence paid off in the second half, as Schutte's finish proved to be the difference in the match.

With the 1-0 result, Angelo State came away from Odessa with a key road victory, combining Schutte's timely goal, Martinez's assist and Rodriguez's shutout to secure the win.
