RICHARDSON, Texas – Angelo State freshman Bao Nghi "Maia" Than was named the Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday.
Than, a finance major from Vietnam, earned the first weekly honor for the Rambelles golf program since Sept. 11, 2025. She secured her second consecutive top-five finish at the East Bay Fall Invitational, carding rounds of 74, 77 and 74 to finish at 9-over-par 225 at Stonebrae Country Club in Hayward, California.
Than finished ahead of 14 nationally ranked competitors in a field of 71 golfers. Her final-round 2-over-par 74 tied for the second-lowest round of the day, while her scoring averages of 3.07 on par-3 holes and 4.80 on par-5 holes ranked among the tournament's top five. She also recorded an eagle during the tournament.
Than and the Rambelles will return to competition in late January 2027 to begin their spring season.
