SAN ANGELO, TEXAS - The Angelo State women's soccer team earned their first win under first-year Head Coach Mike Erwin.
With the victory, the Rambelles improve to 1-0-1 overall on the season.
The Belles recorded the first shot of the contest in the second minute, which was saved by Peppi Niemi.
Nadia Bailey would score the first goal for the Thunderwolves, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the second half, the Belles turned up the pressure, and a penalty kick would slide right by the goalkeeper off the right foot of Elanor Lock, tying the game 1-1 with about 20 minutes remaining in the contest.
The Belles would continue to create career's in the second half as the freshman
Zanae Nylund would record her first goal with an electrifying shot from outside the box to give the Rambelles a 2-1 lead.
About two minutes later,
Ava Cantu would start her tally as a Rambelles, scoring her first career goal off a corner kick from
Graham Peeples, giving the Rambelles a 3-1 victory and the first of the Mike Erwin era.
The Belles led the game in shots with 18, with 10 being on target, compared to the 11 shots and 7 being on target for the Thunderwolves.
The Belles will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 3 as they take on No. 12 Colorado School of Mines.
