SAN ANGELO, Texas - Angelo State University head men's basketball coach Vinay Patel has announced the Rams' 2026-27 schedule, featuring 12 home games inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena and a pair of tournaments in addition to the LSC/RMAC Conference Challenge.

The Rams will host Arlington Baptist in an exhibition on Tuesday, Nov. 3 in which fans can attend inside of the Junell Center-Stephens Arena. 

Kicking off the season, the Rams will travel to Colorado to compete in the LSC/RMAC Conference Challenge. Angelo State will face Adams State on Friday, Nov. 13, before concluding the challenge against Western Colorado on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Angelo State will compete in two tournaments during the 2026-27 campaign. 

The first will be the Lubbock Christian Thanksgiving Classic in Lubbock, Texas. The Rams will face Lone Star Conference opponent Western New Mexico in a nonconference matchup before closing the classic against Fort Lewis the following day. 

The Blue and Gold will then travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic for the third consecutive season. Angelo State will open the event against regional opponent UCCS before facing MSU Billings the following day. 

The Rams will make their home debut on Friday, Nov. 20, hosting Sul Ross State in a nonconference matchup. The 2026-27 schedule features 12 home contests at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. 

RETURNING TO THE BLUE AND GOLD 

Patel and his coaching staff return six players from last season's squad, including Jhordan Ryan of St. John's, Montserrat; Jabbari Barry of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Davon Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Chace Fields of San Angelo, Texas; Ashraf Barsham of Amarillo, Texas; and Kollin Allbright of San Angelo, Texas. 

The Rams will also return both assistant coaches from last season, Connor Moore and Cole Rabedeaux. 

LOOKING BACK 

Angelo State finished the 2025-26 season with a 17-14 overall record, including an 8-4 mark at home. 

The season featured several notable accomplishments, including two All-LSC selections in alumni Jordan Crawford and returning letterwinner Jhordan Ryan. 

Patel also reached 200 career victories during the season, earning the milestone with a 76-68 overtime victory over West Texas A&M on Feb. 26. 

The Rams also recorded a signature victory early in the season, defeating No. 10 Colorado School of Mines, 74-66, on Nov. 9.
