2009: Started all 11 games for the second-straight year at nose guard. named to the All-LSC South Division second team. finished the season with 21 tackles, eight solos, and four sacks. was second on the team with 7.5 tackles for a loss to a total of -50 yards. tied for the team lead with six quarterback hurries. had his only fumble recovery at Southeastern Oklahoma on Oct. 17. had a season-high five stops, 2.5 tackles for a loss, at East Central on Sept 19 and a season-high two QB hurries versus Texas A&M-Commerce on Aug. 29.

2008: Started all 11 games as a sophomore at nose guard. had 46 tackles, 16 solo, with a team-best 12.0 tackles for a loss. ranked fifth on team in tackles. recorded season-best six stops at Midwestern State on Sept. 27 and against West Texas A&M on Oct. 25. led team with 3.5 sacks. had a forced fumble against West Texas A&M. had two quarterback hurries.

2007: Appeared in seven games with four starts at defensive tackle as a redshirt freshman. missed three games due to injury. had 20 tackles, including two solo stops and one tackle for a loss. had season-best five tackles against Midwestern State on Sept. 29.

2006: Redshirted.

High School: Two-time all-district selection at both quarterback and linebacker for Athens High School. team captain in 2005. also lettered in baseball and powerlifting for the Hornets. named all-district in baseball in 2006. two-time baseball team MVP. named Top Clutch Hitter on team as senior.

Personal: Born Oct. 8, 1987. son of Robert and Cindy Smith. major is communication with minors in marketing and management.
