Biography

2018: Team Captain

2017: Aschenbeck finished his junior season with 99 total tackles for the Rams, including 39 solo tackles… Was named a Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention selection and also was named to the LSC All-Academic team... He recorded 5.5 tackles-for-loss and had two sacks and two fumble recoveries… Ashenbeck had a season-high 13 tackles against Texas A&M-Kingsville and 11 tackles in games against Midwestern State, Eastern New Mexico, West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Commerce… A 10-tackle performance against Washburn in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl gave him six double-digit tackle performances for the season.

2016: Played in 11 games and started two at linebacker ... Recorded 64 total tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss ... Added 0.5 sack and one fumble recovery. 

2015: Recorded 71 total tackles, 3.5 for loss, and 1.0 sack in 11 games... Recorded a season high of 10 total tackles in a game twice, once against Midwestern State and once against Texas A&M–Commerce.

2014: Redshirt season.

Prior to ASU: Played for head coach Jerry Long at East Bernard ... Recorded 105 total tackles with five interceptions and three touchdowns as a senior ... Threw for 782 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior ... District 13-2A Most Valuable Player two-straight years ... Second team all-state as a defensive back.

Personal: Son of Ross and Richelle Ashenbeck. Has two siblings, Shelby and Brock. His grandfather, Harvey Aschenbeck, and his father both played football at Texas A&M.
