Aisha Adams

Sophomore Aisha Adams has been a vital part of the success of the Angelo State women's track and field squad this season.

A transfer from Barton County Community College, Adams was the top scorer at the 2009 Lone Star Conference Championships and picked up the David Noble Award, given to the top female field athlete of the meet. This marked the fifth consecutive season that a member of the ASU women's squad picked up this honor.

The Rambelles dominated the LSC Meet, picking up a record 331 points for their third-ever conference title. Adams was responsible for 42 points on her own and won league titles in the high jump, long jump, triple jump and the 400-meter hurdles.

Adams will lead the Rambelles into the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, May 21-23, at the LeGrand Sports Complex. The native of Millington, Tenn., is scheduled to compete in six events at the national meet.
