Mark Petross enters his first season as Volunteer Assistant Coach at Angelo State, focusing on throws and the multis.
Petross brings 34 years of coaching experience at the high school level in Texas.
A member of the ASU track from 1981-1986, Petross was a two-time national qualifier in the shot put, a two-time national qualifier in the hammer, and a national qualifier in the discus. He earned All-American honors in both the shot put and the hammer as a Ram.
Petross earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from ASU before going on to earn his master’s in education. He and his wife, Yvonne, have been married for 36 years and have two children, Jeff and Sara.
