Prior to ASU: Spent two years at North Central Texas where she recorded a 19-7 record...In 2010, she recorded a 2.65 ERA in 63.1 innings for the Lions...Struck out 42 and surrendered 14 walks...Newsome recorded a 12-3 record with a 3.04 ERA in 2009...She fanned 84, while allowing just 34 walks in 96.2 innings of work.

High School: Lettered all four years at Desoto High School...Was named the team’s Most Valuable Player all four years...Earned first-team all-district honors her junior and senior year.

Personal: Born on Jan. 15, 1990...Daughter of Doye and Angela Newsome.
