A former Angelo State track & field student-athlete and assistant coach himself, Tom Dibbern was named the head track & field and cross country coach in July of 2016. Dibbern is the fifth coach in men’s program history and the seventh in women’s program history.Â
During the 2025 seasons, the Rams and Rambelles combined for an Individual National Title and 19 First Team All-American honors. The teams also combined for 16 individual LSC Champions. The Rams finished the NCAA Indoor Championships in 8th overall, with Josh Body winning the National Title in the Triple Jump. Outdoors, the Men had another 8th place Team finish and the Women finished 19th at NCAA Championships.
Prior to the 2025 season, Dibbern has been the Head Coach at Angelo State since 2017 season and was the Head Coach at Texas A&M Commerce for the 2014 and 2015 season. Dibbern holds an Instructor Training Certificate and a Level II Coaching Certificate from USATF in the jumps, throws, multi-events, sprints and hurdles as well as strength and conditioning certification from the USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy. A native of Albany, Texas, Dibbern received his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Angelo State in 2001 and his master's degree in physical education from Hastings College in 2003.
