SAN ANGELO – Avery Zeigler was named the Lone Star Conference hitter of the week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Zeigler was an integral part of helping the Rambelles take two out of three games from then-conference leader Texas A&M-Kingsville. In the first game of the series, she hit a triple during the Rambelles' seventh inning comeback, putting herself in position to be the tying run. Overall, she drove in three runs, scored four runs, and hit a home run, her fifth of the season.
For the season, Zeigler is hitting .303 with 30 hits and 28 runs batted in.
Zeigler and the team will be in action again this coming weekend as they will head to Silver City, New Mexico to take on the Western New Mexico Mustangs.
