The 'Belles were led by a pair of double-double performances by Kaelen Valdez and Alex Woolsey and have won their 12th consecutive Lone Star Conference match.

Valdez, a freshman outside hitter from Helotes, posted her team-leading 10th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs. Libero Caroline Cleveland notched nine digs on defense, while juniors Kayla Smith and Debbie Ohl each tallied eight kills for the 'Belles.

ASU stormed onto the court with guns blazing as the Rambelles' offense hit .343 in the first set, while the defense limited Eastern New Mexico (13-15, 3-9 LSC) to a .000 hitting percentage. After an early 3-3 tie, the 'Belles took control of the set going on a 7-1 run followed by an 11-2 run to take a commanding 21-11 lead. Taking advantage of five attack errors in the set, Angelo State defeated the Zias, 25-12.

The second set began much like the first as ASU took a 6-1 lead to start the set. Eastern New Mexico managed to pull within two (12-10), but the 'Belles capitalized on back-to-back errors by the Zias and took a 14-10 advantage. Keeping at least a three-point lead for the remainder of the set, the Rambelles took the second set by a score of 25-19.

The Zias regrouped in the locker room and jumped out in front of the 'Belles 8-2 in the first set. Eastern New Mexico led by as many as seven points throughout the set, but the unwavering Rambelles chipped away and tied the set at 21 apiece forcing the Zias to call for a timeout. After the break in action, the two squads exchanged leads five times and were tied half a dozen times. The back-and-forth set had fans on their feet as set-point was almost reached four times. With fans biting their nails, the Rambelles forced Eastern New Mexico in to three consecutive attack errors and earned the sweep, 29-27.

Eastern New Mexico was led by Amber Durand's 10 kills, six digs and three total blocks. Setter Veronica Valdez-Kent collected 28 assits, five digs and two kills, while Dallas Russell tallied a match-high 14 digs.

The Rambelles will close out the regular season Saturday, Nov. 6, when they host West Texas A&M at 2 p.m. The Lady Buffs sit atop the Lone Star Conference with a 13-0 record and have won an NCAA record 79 consecutive conference matches. Live stats and live video are available at AngeloSports.com.
