Rambelles Win Blue & Gold Invitational

SAN ANGELO, Texas –
Angelo State's Emeline Crutcher won her first race of the season and help lead the Rambelle cross country team to their first team title of the season at the Blue and Gold Invitational  held at Red Arroyo Park.

The Rambelles scored 22 points as a team to beat second place Tarleton State (39 points). The Rams finished in second place with 39 points to Tarleton State's 30 points, despite the team's usual No. 1 Dylan Littlejohn sitting out due to a minor injury.

Crutcher was the first of six Ramebelle runners to finish in the top 10 of the race. The senior covered the 5K course in 22:47.74.  
Annifer Flores ran a 24:05.99 to finish in third. Sofia Ramos (24:28.72) and Jessica Boudrea (24:43.33) and Kami Orsak (24:56.1) hit the tape in fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively. Chastity King crossed in ninth place with a time of 25:07.22 and Katy Williams ran 25:50.72 for 15th place.

Colleen Adams was the final ASU runner in 23rd place and a time of 27:23.72.

The men were led by Jamin Geocker's third place finish. He ran the 8K course in 26:51.12. Tomas Callejas placed fifth with a time of 27:28.30.

Josh Day (27:39.33) and Graham Hazlewood (27:52.44) crossed the line in ninth and 10th place, respectively. Isac Valdez ran a 28:01.44 and finished in 12th place. Anthony Rabaey was the final Ram runner as he ran 25th overall with a time of 32:04.07.

This is the final tune-up for the Ram and Rambelle cross country teams as they will now prepare for the Lone Star Conference Championships on Saturday, October 20 in Lawton, Okla.
