Belles Try to Rebound at Texas A&M-Commerce

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team will look to rebound on the road on Saturday against Texas A&M-Commerce with tip-off at 2 p.m.
 
The Belles (4-4, 2-1) dropped their first conference game to Tarleton State this past Wednesday. It was the second-straight overtime game for ASU and the TexAnns outscored the Belles 14-4 in the extra period to win the game.
 
Haylee Oliver recorded her second-straight double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds against Tarleton State. Leah LeMaire led the team in scoring with 18 points. The junior is the team's leading scorer this season at 13.0 per game.
 
LeMaire's 13.0 points per game ranks her 10th in the LSC. Holt is fourth in rebounds per game and still leads the LSC with 2.3 blocks per game. Oliver sits at No. 7 with nine rebounds per game and is sixth in assists with 3.0.  
 
As a team, Angelo State leads the LSC in blocks per game (4.1), field goal percentage defense (.354) and defensive rebounds (29.6) while also sitting second in scoring defense (61.1), rebounding offense (42.1) and rebounding margin (+4.8).
 
Texas A&M-Commerce is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play this season. The Lions and Belles split the season series last year. ASU holds the overall series advantage at 37-21. TAMU-Commerce leads the league in offensive rebounds (21.0), rebounding offense (46.0), rebounding margin (+5.8) and offensive rebound percentage (.441).
