SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State Rams cross country team place third overall and the Rambelles finished in fourth at the Red Raider Open on Friday evening.
The Rams placed third in a talented field with 112 points. Texas Tech won the team race with 23 points followed by Wayland Baptist in 61 points.
The Rambelles placed fourth with a total of 121 points. West Texas A&M won the women's race with 29 points and Texas Tech women were second with 53 points.
In the men's race
Dylan Littlejohn and
Jamin Goecker ran step for step placing in 15
th and 16
th, respectively. Littlejohn covered the course in 26:46.12 with Goecker crossing in 26:49.31.
Freshman
Josh Day had another strong showing placing 29
th in a time of 27:32.22.
Tomas Callejas finished 34
th clocking a 27:44.47.
Freshman
Graham Hazlewood was the fifth Ram runner in 46
th place and crossing the line in 28:12.53.
Isac Valdez covered the course in 28:41.62 to place 63
rd.
Emeline Crutcher was the Rambelles top runner with her time of 20:18.18 and a 17
th place finish. Annifer Flores was on her heels in 19
th and a time of 20:19.09.
Sofia Ramos and Jessica Boudreau crossed the line in 35
th and 36
th, respectively. Ramos clocked a 21:17.38 and Boudreau crossed in 21:24.97.
Katy Williams finished in 40
th place in 21:29.03. Chasity King and Kami Orsak were next with 47
th and 48
th finishes. King ran a time of 21:56.18 and Orsak crossed in 22:00.28.
The next meet for the Ram and Rambelle cross country runners will be the Grass Route Grand Prix in Austin, Texas on Saturday, September 29.
