October 4
Kyle Washington ran for a career-high 250 yards and threw three touchdowns to help lead the Rams to a 45-31 Lone Star Conference win over No. 16-ranked Midwestern State on October 4 in Wichita Falls. ASU forced four MSU turnovers in the game with Paul Mason recording an interception and forcing and recovering a fumble as ASU earned its first win over a ranked opponent since 2012 and its first win in Wichita Falls since the 1999 season.

Rematch
Saturday's rematch with Midwestern State will mark the fifth time since 1964 that ASU will play a team twice in the same season. The first time it happened was in 1975 against Sul Ross State with the other four being in 1978 (Sam Houston State), 1979 (Texas A&M-Kingsville), 1991 (ACU) and 1994 (Portland State).

Receiving Votes
For the second-straight week, ASU received votes in the AFCA poll. The Rams picked up 12 votes. The LSC has no team in the top 25 but Texas A&M-Commerce (18) and Midwestern State (16) were receiving votes this week.

Regional Poll
The Rams stayed at No. 10  in the NCAA Division II Super Region Four poll announced on Tuesday. The only change within the top 10 was Ohio Dominican moved up to No. 2 while Colorado State-Pueblo dropped to No. 3. LSC foe Texas A&M-Commerce is the only other LSC team in the top 10 and are ranked No. 8. The top six teams from the Super Four Region will make the NCAA Division II playoffs.

LSC Player of the Week
Kyle Washington was named LSC Player of the Week after throwing and completing a career high 28-of-49 passes for 360 yards including a 4-yard pass to Chris Omigie with 31 seconds left to rally the Rams to a 34-31 win over Tarleton State. The Rams forced three-straight three and outs and recorded an interception to give the offense a chance to win the game.

Eight Punts
The Rams defense forced a season high eight punts on Saturday against Tarleton State.   ASU forced five-straight TSU punts to start the game and forced three in the fourth quarter. The previous high was seven against Western State Colorado.

Receiving Milestone
Dakarai Pecikonis had one of his biggest games of the season against Tarleton State. The senior caught eight passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns. It is Pecikonis eighth game of at least 100-yards receiving in his career. The senior wide receiver moved closer to the ASU all-time career receiving yards mark with 2,629 yards. He is 82 yards from moving into No. 2 all-time ahead of Darron Johnson and just 169 yards from passing Don Burrell for the top spot.

The Win
The Rams 34-31 win over Tarleton State accomplished a few things on Saturday. It was the first win over the Texans since 2000 and first in Stephenville since 1999. It clinched the No. 2 seed in the LSC Football Playoffs while also securing ASU's first winning season since 2009.

Career Sacks
Clayton Callicutt has quietly moved up the ASU career sack list. The junior has 6.5 sacks this season and now has 18.5 for his career as a Ram. Callicutt is currently No. 4 on the ASU all-time career sacks. The three names in front of him are Dane Krager (31), Greg Collins (26.5) and Pierce Holt (21.5). The junior is currently No. 15 in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in LSC in tackles for loss with 1.9 per game.

Forcing Turnovers
Fred Lawrence's interception that clinched the Rams victory over Tarleton State made it five-straight games with a takeaway. ASU has forced 21 turnovers this season and 17 in the last five games.

Tackles
Rush Seaver, the No. 3 tackler in NCAA Division II at 14.1 tackles per game, recorded his sixth double-digit tackle game of the season. His 16 tackles was the third-best single game performance for the senior this season.

No. 1 Kickoff Returns

Anthony Yancy is No. 4 in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in the LSC at 32.5 yards per return. He is one of four players in NCAA Division II with two kickoff return touchdowns.

Streaking
Kyle Washington extended his streak of throwing a touchdown pass in consecutive game to 15. The Humble native added four passing touchdowns and now has 21 TD's on the season and 44 in his career. He has thrown a TD pass in 20 of the 26 games he has played in during his career.

LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field
The Rams are 3-2 on the season at home. ASU is averaging 429.6 yards per game while at home and scoring 41.0 points per game. Both of Anthony Yancy's kickoff return touchdowns and the two defensive touchdowns have been at home.

Career Top 10
Kyle Washington has been etching his name in the ASU record books. The junior became the first ASU player in history to pass for over 2,000 and rush for over 1,000 in a single season last year and is now the only player in ASU history to be in the top 10 in both career passing yards (7th) and career rushing yards (6th). The quarterback is also on pace to break the ASU record for total offense record in a season of 298.3 held by Josh Neiswander. The Humble native is currently averaging 341.2 yards per game.
