SAN ANGELO, Texas – With 85 days until the 2026 football season kicks off, the Angelo State University football program finalizes its schedule as announced by head football coach
Jeff Girsch.
For the first time since 2019, Angelo State will play six home games at 1st Community Credit Union Field at LeGrand Stadium.
The Rams open the season on Thursday, Aug. 27, hosting Fort Hays State in a non-conference matchup. Angelo State will then travel to Gunnison, Colorado, to face Western Colorado on Thursday, Sept. 3, in its final non-conference contest.
Following an open week, the Rams begin Lone Star Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 19, when they welcome West Texas A&M to San Angelo.
Angelo State hits the road the following week for its first conference road game, traveling nearly 2,000 miles to Monmouth, Oregon, to take on Western Oregon on Sept. 26.
The Rams then return home for a two-game homestand, beginning with a Family Day contest against defending Lone Star Conference champion Central Washington on Oct. 3. One week later, ASU hosts Sul Ross State as part of Homecoming festivities on Oct. 10.
The second half of the schedule features an alternating home-and-away format. The Rams travel to Midwestern State on Oct. 17 before returning home to host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Oct. 24 for the program's annual Breast Cancer Awareness game.
The Rams close the regular season with road trips to UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico, surrounding a Nov. 7 home finale against Eastern New Mexico. The contest against the Greyhounds will serve as both Military Appreciation Day and Senior Day.
