SAN ANGELO – The No. 12 Angelo State softball team used three home runs to take down Eastern New Mexico 7-1 in the first game of the LSC Showcase in Wichita Falls.

"It was a good way to start the weekend," head coach Travis Scott said after the game. "Mary Kate (McKay) pitched a great game and we played good defense behind her. Morgan (Spearman) set the tone with the home run to start the game. It is unfortunate that Lanie (Robinson) was hurt due to field conditions but our team depth is going to pay big for us now."

Morgan Spearman led off the game with her sixth home run of the year for a quick 1-0 advantage. The senior has now reached safely in 20-straight games.

The Rambelles kept the first inning alive by loading the bases. Kenedy Urbany was credited with an RBI on a fielder's choice to score Micherie Koria and Tina Cisneros hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Dunn for a 3-0 ASU lead.

The Rambelles added another run in the top of the second. Carly Peters would cross the plate after Dunn hit into a fielder's choice to extend the lead to 5-0..

That would be all Mary Kate McKay needed for run support. The senior only allowed one run on eight hits in a complete game win. McKay did give up a walk and stranded eight runners in her third win of the season.

Dunn hit her league leading 12th home run of the season in the fifth and Cisneros hit a two-run home run, her second of the season, in the top of the seventh for the final 7-1 score.

ASU returns to the field tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Mustangs Park to take on No. 17 Texas Woman's. The Rambelles will turn around and play Tarleton State at Mustangs Park at 6:30 p.m. later that day.
