KINGSVILLE, Texas – No. 24 Angelo State volleyball fell to Texas A&M – Kingsville on the road Friday night 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22) and saw its nine-match winning streak come to an end in four sets.
The Belles (15-4, 4-1 LCS) were held to a .126 attacking percentage in their first conference loss of the season. The Javelinas finished with a 75-71 dig advantage and a .180 hitting percentage. TAMUK improves to 9-7 on the season and 2-3 in the conference.
"It was a disappointing effort," said head coach Chuck Waddington. "We can't go into someone's gym and hope to win. You have to make it happen, and we did not do that tonight."
Mallory Blauser led ASU with 18 kills to bring her to a total of 259 for the season. Brianna Sotello fired in 14 kills and 14 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. She leads the team in this category.

After dropping the first two sets, the Belles came out of the break battling early. ASU took its biggest lead of the night mid-set with a 10-5 lead. Stifling a late comeback attempt, Sotello dropped in a kill to give the Belles their only set victory of the night, 25-22. ASU fought hard in the fourth set but TAMUK would put a halt on a late rally taking the set (25-22) and the match.
